How Shirebrook Colliery toppled Stuffynwood Hall

I've found a survey record dated 1906 of Shirebrook Colliery's investigation into the subsidence of Stuffynwood Hall. No doubt this survey was instigated by the leasee, Arthur Markham, himself a colliery owner and mining engineer, who left the Hall the same year because of subsidence and after so doing, entered a legal battle with Joseph Paget's widow, the owner, who had made her home at Brighton.

The record was published in 'Damage to surface buildings caused by underground workings' by W.Hay, 1908.
