In 1903, the immensely wealthy Charles Paxton Markham, colliery owner, Markham engineering and Staveley ironmaster, posed for the camera in his new Daimler in the backyard of Stuffynwood Hall. Sadly, the hall has gone but the cars have certainly developed.
